Dear Friends,<\/p>\n

one of my 2016 goals is to turn this site into a proper blog, sharing more images and thoughts on process with you. Lately my thoughts have been on four things:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. working in different media and the resistance encountered;<\/li>\n
  2. the Venus Transit book (which will get done this year, damnit!);<\/li>\n
  3. working in kiln-cast glass; and<\/li>\n
  4. international residencies.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Right now I’m smack in the middle of generating my reappointment dossier, creating the curriculum and paperwork for the classes which begin next week, leaving for a conference in three days, and all the usual fun that comes with living. A little chaotic, but that often brings out the best in me. Keep your eyes open for two\u00a0upcoming projects which I’m hoping to complete by the end of February, broadsides for the poets Thomas Dooley and Amber Flora Thomas. Last November I completed a “b-side” for English poet Nancy Campbell and the launch of her book, Disko Bay<\/a>, in which I put the indigo dyeing skills I learned last summer to practice.\u00a0Here’s an image:<\/p>\n

    Each one varies slightly due to the hand-dipped edges and hand-snapped margin lines. Bethany Berres and Ken Bova helped with the indigo work\u00a0and I’m grateful.<\/p>\n
