I am delighted to say that this broadside will debut in NYC at the launch of Thomas Dooley’s first collection, TRESPASS, a 2013 National Poetry Series selection! The launch is this Sunday, 9/28 at 5 PM – Barnes & Noble Union Square. Thomas’ writing is exquisite and if I had a fairy godmother, I’d be there. Do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of his book.
Making this piece has spurred many thoughts and questions about inspiration; should we only work with that which inspires us? Does inspiration have a shelf life? Heraclitus (paraphrased) said, “No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it’s not the same river and he’s not the same man.” At some point will I return to my 30+ years of journals as a source for ideas, or is the most recent step the direction to follow?
